12d Synergy Connectors

Connectors allow you to integrate 12d Synergy with other software packages in your organisation.  For ease of implementation the 12d Synergy development team have written a range of connector integrations for popular software packages such as:

Watch: Xero Connector Tutorial – 12d Synergy

This video provides an overview of setting up the Xero feature in 12d Synergy. This video includes how to get access to the Xero API, how to connect 12d Synergy and Xero, setting up the attribute mappings and how to run the connector. Data such as jobs, contacts, companies, tasks, documents and other information to be imported into 12d Synergy automatically as they are generated in WorkflowMax. The connector API allows you to connect 12d Synergy to your business’s other software products. Connectors automatically import information stored in other products – preventing double entry, saving time and reducing errors.

Xero

Xero is a cloud-based accounting software platform for small to medium sized businesses.  The system has a range of features including invoicing, inventory, payroll, expense tracking, quotes and reporting.  You can read more about Xero and their range of features here.

How does Xero connect to 12d Synergy?

Once you have connected Xero to 12d Synergy via the API connector, you set up which information to sync from Xero to the relative 12d Synergy Job or location.  The data which can be imported into 12d Synergy from Xero consists of entities and fields.

Entities include information such as clients, jobs and contacts etc.  Fields include metadata such as name, created date, contact information such as email, phone number as well as any other custom fields.  This data can then be mapped for storing from Xero to 12d Synergy.

12d Synergy’s Xero connector can also save you time by automatically setting up new jobs inside 12d Synergy.  When a new job is entered into Xero, you can map a field which tells 12d Synergy that a new job needs to be created.  You can configure the system to set up different job types from templates depending on the information entered in Xero.

In practice you might have a standard design job template, when a new job is entered in Xero your new job is created in 12d Synergy.  This job template can include things like a folder structure, roles, tasks, workflows and naming conventions/naming rules already built.  This saves a huge amount of administration at the start of a job, any customisations needed to specific jobs can then be made after the template is applied.
